Yellow Fruit Fly - Strauzia perfecta

Now here’s a strange sight: a bright-colored visitor to the backyard who seemingly has an interest in the bird droppings on this leaf. While the common name may suggest a different lifestyle, adult Fruit Flies consume sources of food other than fruits. Due to my presence, this yellow beauty didn’t stay on this leaf very long leaving ambiguity as to whether or not droppings are a preferred source of nutrients. From what I’ve found, the host plant of this specie is apparently the giant ragweed plant (Ambrosia trifida - which this leaf doesn’t belong to) making this insect a passerby in the backyard. Where their host plant is abundant, the adult Flies are drawn to the flowers where they can feed on nectar, pollen and anything else plant-related they can lap up with their mouthparts. More importantly, where one Fly arrives, others will also join, leading to potential mating and egg-laying opportunities. Here’s where the “fruit” part comes in: the Fruit Fly eggs will be laid on the ragweed flower, which gives the hatching larvae a direct line into the stem!

The larvae of this specie is a stem-miner which feeds on the innards of the ragweed stem. The worm-like maggot moves down the stem (feeding as it goes) until it reaches the roots and pupates in the nearby soil, awaiting emergence next year...which is what we’re witnessing with the adult here. A single generation year after year, but that’s more than enough if a sufficient source of giant ragweed can be found. As it stands, this Fly has to compete with the similar looking Picture-Wing Flies for resources in this yard. Though similar in appearance try not to confuse the two for one another. Though the wings are brightly colored and ornate, this is a case of Tephritidae vs. Ulidiidae. That being said, if you’re drawn to the wings, good! The wings provide a clue as to how to identify this insect successfully. If the body bears no substantial dark markings, has a yellow body (with maybe some orange) and the wings have a “F” shaped pattern, you’ve found S. perfecta! With the “F” marking, the top line will be wide and the bottom line with be thin and long; zoom in to see for yourself.

My rear camera replacement for my Galaxy S4 [GT-I9505] (w/ my Paper Dolls) - Part 3 (Final) [6/27/20]

Here’s my final part of my new rear camera replacement for my Samsung Galaxy S4 with my paper dolls. 📷📱😊

Note: In this part, some of my pictures that I took (using Honor 8C) are edited via GIMP.

Okay, let’s continue:

1st Image [an 11th Image edited from Part 1]: • Okay I decided to add text 🖼️✏️ on my 11th Image from ‘Part 1′ just to be sure of which is old and which is new. So without  further ado, let’s go now to the comparison and see the results. 

•Uh yeah and that question that I’m asking myself, well my answer will be revealed right now. So here I go.

2nd to 5th Image(s): • [2nd & 3rd Image(s)]: Now I actually take pictures on that piece of paper from the mini sketch booklet from old rear camera before I disassemble and replaced by a new one. And as you can see on the flash mode, everything seems okay (2nd Image 🖼️) but (3rd Image added with text & line 🖼️✏️) look closer; there’s a itsy-bitsy tiny winey black spot ⚫ located on the low left side. I’d just thought myself that my old camera seems fine and clear with no mess around but I was wrong. I never knew that I used this phone since 2018 (replacing my old Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 [GT-S7582] even I though I used it for my 2nd sim card), every pictures I took within 2 years have always got that super small black spot in flash mode. Yeah you heard me, 2 freaking years and its already in my history digital photo album folders. •[4th and 5th Image(s)]: On the other hand in non-flash mode, the picture quality seems to be okay without black spot on the low left side.👍 But still I’m really worried about that very small detail in flash mode. ☹️

Bottom-line: • That’s the reason why I need a new rear camera part replacement for my Samsung Galaxy S4 (GT-i9505) due to my concern of that tiny winey yet small black spot when I used flash ON or auto flash mode. Which leads us to the next images.↓

6th to 9th Image(s): • [6th & 7th Images]: Now after I install the new one, here are the results. As you can see in the flash ON mode (both un-edit and edit with text) seems perfectly fine, but when I tried to zoom in I haven’t seen a small black spot on the low left side for the new rear camera. As in, nothing at all no black spot or spots or anything mess unlike the old one. 😮 

• [8th & 9th Images]: As for the non-flash mode, much like the old one the picture was super clear with no black spot or anything mess in site. So looks okay.👍

10th Image: • Now with all the repairing and comparisons are done, I could finally take pictures with my paper dolls in a better quality with the new rear camera piece for my Galaxy S4. Say cheese!  😁📱📸 Man you two look good (and cute), but it is time to clean and change new paper. Sounds good? My paper dolls replies “Yes please!”, okay good.☺️

Overall: • I had to say that I’m so glad, happy and I solved my picture quality problem. My repair operation was completely success! 😊 And I hope that my new rear camera piece will be long lasted lifespan. 🙂 Kudos to the Lazada seller [CLICK ME!] for sending me in a well packaged, no damage the item itself, and of course it worked very well on my Galaxy S4 phone (GT-I9505). 😊👍 Please keep it up! 👌😉

My USB Hub 3.0 Mini Portable - Part 4 (Final) [Mar. 28, 2020]

Here’s my last and final part of my USB Hub 3.0 Portable, an item from one of my unopened parcels since 2019.📦 🙂

In my final part of this topic, I’m now attempt to try out three USB Flash Drives and two USB Card Readers with Micro SD Card and the other was SD Card Attached through my two smartphones (individually). 😊

BTW: #1 - Much like my previous post, some of photos are now combined into one using my GIMP art software despite I have 12 photos I took plus 5 screenshots from each of my current smartphones. Some of screenshots btw are combined in one much like my photos I’ve took. #2 - Once again I’m using my mom’s smartphone Huawei Y6 Pro (2019) for taking photos. And #3 - Finally I’m gonna say this again… No paper dolls appearance this time around for the 5th time… Don’t ask me why their absence so let’s get move on and focused… I guess they’re up to something.

Nevertheless, let’s get through this shall we:

1st Image: • Here you see the items which I’m talk about. By the way: some of the flash drives and card readers are from my mom, with the exception of my USB Hub, my Sandisk Cruzer Switch (on the center) and that USB OTG wired adapter (which is for home use). That first row on the left was my mom’s Sandisk Cruzer Edge among with her USB used brands are CD-R King (the dark marine blue flash drive, blue w/green USB card reader and the purple/violet USB Micro SD card reader).

2nd & 3rd Image(s) [combined]: • Now my first attempt is to try plugging three USB flash drives on my USB hub and connected using the wired USB OTG adapter to my two Smartphones.

4th & 5th Image(s) [combined] [with my screenshots from my two smartphones]: • Once I combined all and plugging my smartphones, it actually really worked. And look at it their screenshots - I was thought that’ll be one USB will worked but it can connect any flash drives a many as you want. With three functional USB flash drive appears is example right here from my two smartphones, that’s pretty impressive. Also I try to opened their files and folders for both of them and it really well functioned. 🙂

6th & 7th Image(s) [combined]: •Now let’s try with my second attempt, by using two USB card readers -the purple micro sd card and a blue w/ green SD card at the other (which both of them are CD-R King brand).

8th & 9th Image(s) [combined] [with my screenshots from my two smartphones]: •Testing on my Samsung Galaxy S4 worked well as always. Same goes to my Honor 8C although the blue w/ green card reader (with SD card attached) did. Because it seems the purple/violet micro sd card reader was inoperative (unlike my Galaxy S4 did), as evidence from the combined screenshots; the left was the micro SD card reader while on the right was the SD card reader which I’ve already said before. Ah well...

10th to 12th Image(s) [combined]: • Finally try to test out a two Sandisk flash drives and a one CDR-King (blue w/ green) card reader to see if it works and the results are the same as before. I don’t need to shown ya some screenshots from my two smartphones so please go ahead to zooming in.

Conclusion: • So my conclusion was impressive. USB Hub 3.0 Mini Portable can connect pretty much any input devices: from keyboard, mouse and also numerous flash drives. Well not everything or more specifically any input devices on their disposal because they’re some limitations (I think). For instance a printer (and all in one printers included): some of (newly) printers can support either OTG or any wireless connection method (e.g. cloud support) and some old ones can’t do, even if I could try on the old printer connected to my smartphone via OTG it might be possible. Also that’s what I’m thinking of, but I rather choose not to attempt. So overall I think it’s cool and I think I should buy another Mini USB hub just for extra ports, or maybe (just maybe) I could buy a good quality expensive USB Hub so who knows...😊
